What to Expect

Staff:
Each class will have a designated teacher that will establish routines, provide exceptional care to the children in her class. All staff is background checked and CPR trained.

What to Bring:

• Snack and lunch each day: easy to serve, easy for child to eat. Please send labeled and snack separate from lunch.

• Water in a sippy cup or water bottle, labeled

• Change of clothes in case of accident including socks.

• Supplies from list to meet the teacher or on first day of school.

• Take home folder- we will send home with papers, please send back each day.

  Potty Training:
  We are not staffed to facilitate potty training. Please plan to potty train at home. Kids do not have to be potty trained to attend. Diapers are preferred until the child is able to go through the day without accidents.

  Payments:
  Half of the first months payment is due at registration to hold your place and is non refundable. The remaining balance for August is due on or before the 1st day of school, August 17th. Each additional month will be set up as a direct withdraw on the 1st of the month. The month of May will be half price due to shortened week and breaks during the spring semester. If you have to leave the program mid year, any remaining monthly payments will be canceled but any prior payments made will not be refunded.

  10:00- Snack
  10:15- Story, Music and Activity
  11:00-Play
  12:00- Lunch
  12:30-Quiet time
  1:30- Books, puzzles, and playdough
  2:00- Pick up
  Schedule is subject to change as teachers plan and as they get to know children.
  
  3 and 4 year old class (Preschool class M/W/F
  Preschool curriculum will be a Christian curriculum and will focus on kindergarten readiness through play-based learning, introducing children to early literacy, number sense, fine/gross motor skills, and social-emotional development.
  Schedule will be determined as teachers plan with curriculum and as they get to know children’s needs.

Meet Our Teachers

Elizabeth Schomer- Preschool Director

Elizabeth has taught grades 4-7 in both public and private Christian schools. Since having three children of her own, she has naturally discovered a deep caring for all little ones and is honored to teach preschool at TKP. We are called to serve the kingdom in a multitude of ways, but for Elizabeth the ultimate ministry is in preparing kids for life through intentional, creative play and gentle stewardship of their hearts. 

Kaylee Crowson- Play Based Teacher

Kaylee loves working with toddlers and is passionate about creating a fun, nurturing environment where children can thrive.  She was a substitute teacher at Durant elementary schools during the 2024–2025 school year,  and has worked at TKP for the past two years. Kaylee looks forward to inspiring creativity, confidence, and a love of learning in every child.

Kim Bos- 3/ 4 year old teacher

Kim has taught in early elementary classrooms for 10 years in both public and private Christian schools. She stepped away from the classroom to grow her family, which now includes 3 little ones. She is excited to step back into the role of teacher and teach the preschool curriculum class at TKP. Kim is passionate about cultivating a love of learning within children and looks forward to seeing them grow. 

Courtnie Gautreaux- Play Based Teacher

Courtnie has experience working with kids in a variety of settings and age groups. Since 2021, she has been a dance instructor at Axis Dance Co., teaching ages 2-18. She also worked as a paraprofessional at DHS from 2023-2024. Courtnie is passionate about creating a safe and encouraging environment for your children and helping them grow.
